Industry-First Security Features for Complete Mobile Apps Lifecycle Management
First company to meet security standards for app development, deployment and management for regulated industries: GO!AppZone platform achieves end-to-end FIPS 140-2 certification
London - March 3, 2015 - Globo Plc. (LSE-AIM: GBO), the international provider of Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM), mobile solutions and software as a service (SaaS), today released a market-leading version of its mobile application development platform,GO!AppZone, with industry-first enhanced security features.
At Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Globo announced that its GO!AppZone platform now offers FIPS 140-2 certified encryption for the secure development, deployment, management and end-to-end usage across company networks. Globo is the only company that offers such security.
Organisations, particularly in regulated and public sector markets such as finance and healthcare, will be able to use the GO!AppZone platform to develop highly secure, bespoke apps for a range of mobile operating systems. Furthermore, these apps can be deployed in Globo's GO!Enterprise Secure Workspace with end-to-end encryption meeting FIPS 140-2 security standards. As a result, new business opportunities open up for enterprises and developers.
IDC predict that 3.3 million apps will be available by the end of this year and that annual installs will reach 150 billion (equating to nearly 50 apps per device per year). This will necessitate the tighter security and greater control of enterprise usage that the improved GO!AppZone platform brings.
Announcing the new enhanced platform, Globo's CEO, Costis Papadimitrakopoulos said, "Until now, no single company had been able to provide a one-stop-shop for developing and deploying enterprise apps meeting the most stringent security and encryption standards end-to-end. This release of GO!AppZone changes that and sets the new benchmark for the industry."
The latest release of GO!AppZone platform provides continued support for Blackberry 10 handsets which is being phased out by certain competitors. The company believes that continued support of Blackberry 10 is particularly important in the regulated markets where the handsets still command significant legacy market share.
Among other new, enhanced GO!AppZone features is improved support for back-end system data integration and easier developer access to device functionality.
Globo is demonstrating the enhanced GO!AppZone platform for enterprise app development and deployment during Mobile World Congress at its stand in Hall 8.1 - App Planet Stand 8.1 D49.
