Appointment of Global head of Strategy and Product

Earthport plc (AIM: EPO), the cross-border payments service provider, is  pleased to announce that Sajeev Viswanathan, an experienced banker and entrepreneur, has joined the Earthport management team as President - Global head of Strategy and Product.

Sajeev will initially spearhead Earthport's strategy for expansion into Asia including India. In addition, Sajeev will take on the responsibility for Earthport's global network expansion and product development. He will report to Hank Uberoi CEO.

Previously, up until 2009, Sajeev had an 18 year career with Citigroup, the multi-national financial Institution. At Citi, he was Managing Director in the Global Transaction Services (GTS) business in charge of Global Receivables & Trade Finance, a multi-billion dollar business. Prior to this he held the position of Chief Administrative Officer, GTS, Europe Middle-East & Africa (EMEA), also serving as Risk Director on the Board of Citicorp Trustee Company Ltd. He has also worked in Russia as Director, Corporate Bank, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) based in Moscow and was also a Director on the Board of ZAO Citibank Russia.

Most recently, Sajeev held the position of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Bhartiya Samruddhi Financial Services Ltd., a well-known Microfinance Company in India. During his tenure at the helm, Sajeev led a team of over 12,000 people and oversaw establishment of the company among leaders in the industry. He also served on the board of BASIX Sub-K iTransactions Ltd., a micro payments company in India.
