Glanbia Co-op approve acquisition of 40% holding in Glanbia Ireland
17 December 2021, Glanbia plc, the global nutrition Group ("Glanbia", or the "plc") has been informed by Glanbia Cooperative Society Ltd (the "Co-op") that its members have approved the proposed acquisition of the plc's 40% interest in Glanbia Ireland DAC ("Glanbia Ireland") by the Co-op (the "Proposed Transaction") and other related proposals, at a special general meeting ("SGM") held today.
Process, approvals and timing
Completion of the Proposed Transaction remains subject to the approval by the independent shareholders of Glanbia which will be sought at an extraordinary general meeting (the "EGM"). Details of the Proposed Transaction will be outlined in a circular which will be available to shareholders early in 2022. The EGM is expected to occur in the first quarter of 2022 with completion of the Proposed Transaction expected in the first half of 2022.
