QinetiQ Group plc24 October 2006 QinetiQ appoints ex-CIA head as non-executive director George Tenet joins QinetiQ board This replaces RNS Number:9266K which contained information published in error QinetiQ Group plc, the international defence and security technology company,today announces the appointment of George Tenet as an independent non-executivedirector, with immediate effect. Tenet was one of the longest serving directorsin the history of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), holding office from1997 to 2004. Tenet was sworn in as the 18th director of Central Intelligence in July 1997,and under presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush led efforts to rebuild andmodernise the CIA's capacity to acquire, analyse and disseminate criticalintelligence information. Prior to this appointment he held the positions of CIAdeputy director and acting director. He is currently a professor at Washington'sGeorgetown University, a board director of Guidance Software Inc and L-1Identity Solutions and sits on the advisory board of The Analysis Corporation. Commenting on the appointment, QinetiQ's chairman Sir John Chisholm said: "I amextremely pleased to welcome George Tenet to QinetiQ. His extraordinary trackrecord and experience in the fields of intelligence and security areparticularly relevant as we continue to focus on the US defence and securitymarket." Tenet said: "I am looking forward with great enthusiasm to working with theQinetiQ team. I am especially interested in the capacity of the company'stechnologies to meet a number of the challenges faced by our nations' militaryand intelligence personnel."
