Acta S.p.A.

("Acta" or "the Company")

FutureE and Acta sign supply agreement for Jupiter electrolysers

Acta S.p.A. (AIM: ACTA), the clean energy products company, is pleased to announce that it has signed a five-year non-exclusive supply agreement with FutureE Fuel Cell Solutions GmbH ("FutureE") for Jupiter electrolysers based on Acta's low-cost EL500 series electrolysers. The hydrogen generators from Acta are to be integrated into FutureE's fuel cell and electrolyser system, Jupiter Independence, for back-up and off-grid power.

Under the terms of the agreement, FutureE has appointed Acta as its preferred supplier for electrolysers in its products and solutions. The total sales value over the five year contract period is expected to be in excess of €3,000,000.

Acta has incorporated a number of modifications to the EL500 to meet the specific requirements of FutureE's Jupiter Independence system. Integrating Acta's hydrogen generating technology into FutureE's system dramatically reduces costs therefore making commercial adoption viable for telecoms and other applications worldwide.

FutureE is a leader in the supply of fuel cell systems for back-up and off-grid power. FutureE's flagship product, Jupiter Independence, is an award winning system which combines fuel cell, electrolyser, energy management, hydrogen storage and water tank all in one housing.

To allow combination with off-grid renewable energy sources, the Jupiter Independence system currently employs a platinum-based electrolyser. FutureE approached Acta looking for an electrolyser with substantially reduced cost and increased performance to achieve a significant improvement in cost-effectiveness.

Paolo Bert, Chief Executive of Acta commented: "Acta is delighted with the interest from FutureE in our electrolyser products. It further demonstrates the increasing demand in the market for low cost electrolyser technology which produces clean and dry hydrogen and more importantly, illustrates that Acta has become a key player in this market."

Mark-Uwe Osswald, Founder and Managing Director of FutureE commented: "Market interest in high efficient fuel cell back-up and off-grid systems with low operation and maintenance cost is significantly growing, particularly from the telecoms sector as demand for Jupiter Independence systems reflects. Being able to incorporate Acta's low cost, safe and efficient electrolyser into FutureE's system will speed up the market introduction of our combined fuel cell and electrolyser system. We look forward to working with Acta on commercializing Jupiter Independence."

About Acta S.p.A.

Acta S.p.A. is a developer and manufacturer of a range of clean energy products. Its product line includes market-leading compact hydrogen generators (electrolysers) which produce pure, dry and compressed hydrogen in a way that is easy-to-use and completely safe, and the Company is committed to integrating its award-winning electrolysers with renewable energy sources.

Acta's cost-competitive electrolysers are based on its proprietary, inexpensive environmental catalyst and hydrogen conversion technologies. These products help overcome the barriers to the adoption of fuel cells, most notably the lack of a local hydrogen infrastructure.

Acta's low-cost hydrogen generators represent a unique breakthrough in electrolyser technology. They can operate using mains power or intermittent renewable energy, and produce clean, dry hydrogen already at pressure for use in fuel cell and other applications. This unique combination of features avoids the system complexity and energy cost of further cleaning, drying and compression of the hydrogen, resulting in a simple, compact, low-cost and highly efficient system that is ideally suited for energy conversion and storage applications. In such applications, which include battery replacement and renewable energy storage, low cost and high efficiency are critical to commercial viability, while hydrogen compression is essential for the energy density of the system. No other water electrolyser currently on the market offers this combination of benefits.

Acta is focusing on delivering its products to markets with high volume demand for high-value environmental solutions (transport, back-up power, energy and leisure). It is accelerating the commercialisation of its products via partnerships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), distributors, and agents in these sectors, and intends to drive down production costs at high volume via contract manufacturing.

Acta S.p.A. is based near Pisa, Italy, and was admitted to trading on AIM in October 2005.
