Petards Group PLC30 October 2007 Petards Group plc ("Petards" or "the Company") Contract award Petards, the AIM listed developer of advanced surveillance systems, announces afurther major contract award from the Ministry of Defence. Following the announcement on 23 October of a contract for the supply ofairborne chaff and flare dispensing equipment, Petards Joyce-Loebl has beenawarded a further contract for similar equipment which will form part of anintegrated defensive aids suite to be installed on rotary wing aircraft. Thetotal of these two contracts is in excess of £2m. Deliveries on both contractsare expected to commence in early 2008 and are planned be completed during thatyear. The defensive aids suite is designed to protect the aircraft from a rangeof ground launched missiles including shoulder-launched man-portable air defencesystems (MANPADS) that are in widespread use throughout the world. Petards Chief Executive Bill Conn said "It is very pleasing that the Ministry ofDefence has awarded these significant contracts to Petards Joyce-Loebl whichwill further increase the installed base for our countermeasures dispensingequipment."
