FSA Retail Distribution Review
The Financial Services Authority ("FSA") has published its Retail Distribution Review ("RDR") feedback statement. The statement outlines the FSA's latest proposals to give consumers additional confidence and trust in the retail investment market, at a time when consumers need independent advice on retirement and savings planning.
While the Board of Lighthouse continues broadly to support the objectives of the RDR, it notes in particular the end of December 2012 as the proposed final implementation date for most of the current proposals, some of which could evolve further. Accordingly it expects to see no significant immediate change in the business arrangements of the Group or its Independent Financial Advisers.
The Board will continue to monitor this regulatory initiative as the proposed consultation and implementation programme develops, and further announcements will be made in due course.
