("AML" or "the Company")
Fourth Diamond Sale
African Minerals Limited (AIM:AMI), the mineral exploration company with interests principally in Sierra Leone, West Africa, today announces the results of its fourth sale of rough diamonds sourced wholly from its alluvial bulk sampling activities in the Kono district of Sierra Leone.
The Company engaged the services of Special Diamond Company Ltd, a subsidiary company of Overseas Diamonds NV, to undertake the sale. The sale of diamonds, which attracted 10 buyers, was fully compliant with the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme and the diamonds were sourced from bulk sampling activities at the Company's alluvial operation for the period from 5 May 2007 to 13 December 2007.
The Company sold 7,218.86 carats at US$345.84 per carat, realising gross sale proceeds of US$2,496,546.57. Details of the sale are as follows:
