LONRHO PLC

("Lonrho" or the "Company")

"Lonrho's Fly540 to transport 520 tons of cargo for the World Food Program"

Lonrho Plc (AIM: LONR), the conglomerate with a structured portfolio of African investments, is pleased to announce that it's aviation subsidiary, Fly540, is to transport 520 tons of cargo for the World Food Program.

Fly540 Uganda will transport 520 MT of cargo, consisting of food and non food items from Entebbe Uganda to Dungu in the Democratic Republic of Congo for the World Food Program (WFP) agency based in KampalaThe agreement consists of transporting 250 tons of food items and an additional 270 tons of non food items (NFT) to relief camps in DUNGU in ITURI Province

The signing of the agreement falls in line with the renewed objectives of Fly540, in terms of its on-going expansion and presence in the region, whilst providing a spectrum of aviation related services, especially to deprived and remote areas with limited current access.

Fly540's freighters, stationed in EntebbeUganda, have a cargo capacity of 5 tons and the aircraft's loading capacity, range, reliability, operating cost and unlimited restriction to operate on remote airfields are generating strong business. 540 Uganda will assign two freighters on a full time basis to carry out 104 rotations to fulfil this contract.

David Lenigas, Lonrho's Executive Chairman commented:

"We are delighted that the Fly540 business model continues to develop. It is encouraging that more and more customers are coming to understand the capabilities and reliability of Fly540 in the East African market. The work the World Food Program undertakes in Africa is vitally important, and we are proud to be a part of their logistics process."
