M/V HELLENIC SKY TIME CHARTERED AT US$22,000 PER DAY FOR 5-7 MONTHS

 

Hellenic Carriers Limited, ("Hellenic" or the "Company") (AIM: HCL), an international provider of marine transportation services for dry bulk cargoes, announces today that its wholly owned subsidiary Thasos Shipping Co. Ltd. ("Thasos"), the ship owning company of the M/V Hellenic Sky, has entered into a time charter agreement for a minimum period of 5 months with Cargill International S.A. at a gross rate of US$22,000 per day commencing 20 October 2010. The maximum length of the charter will be approximately 7 months.

 

This agreement is a direct continuation of the existing time charter with Cargill International S.A. dated 4 June 2009 at the daily gross rate of US$18,000.

 

The earliest expiration date of the charter is now 20 March 2011 and the latest is 30 May 2011.

 

The M/V Hellenic Sky is a 68,591dwt Panamax built in 1994 at Sasebo Heavy Industries, Japan.

Hellenic Carriers Limited manages through Hellenic Shipmanagement Corp. a fleet of dry bulk vessels that transport iron ore, coal, grain, steel products, cement, alumina, and other dry bulk cargoes worldwide.
