First Production of Ilmenite & Rutile

ASX, AIM and Media Release 4 December 2013 FIRST PRODUCTION OF ILMENITE & RUTILE Base Resources Limited (ASX & AIM: BSE) ("Base") is pleased to advise thecommencement of concentrate processing through the mineral separation plant("MSP") at the Kwale Project and the first production of ilmenite and rutile. Following the commissioning of the wet concentrator in early October, the firstheavy mineral concentrate ("HMC") has now been taken through the ilmenite andrutile circuits of the MSP. Over the next several weeks processing rates areplanned to be ramped up and inventories of rutile and ilmenite built up aheadof the commencement of bulk shipments in January. A small containerisedshipment is scheduled in December. Construction work on the zircon circuit of the MSP is now in its final stageswith commissioning expected during January. The majority of the supportinginfrastructure is now complete, with access road, 132kv power supply, tailingsstorage facility and Mukurumudzi dam now functionally complete. The Likonimarine facility is scheduled for completion in early December, well ahead ofthe first bulk shipment.
