First Bulk Rutile and Zircon Shipments

ASX, AIM and Media Release 8 April 2014 FIRST BULK RUTILE AND ZIRCON SHIPMENTS Base Resources Limited (ASX & AIM: BSE) ("Base") ("Base" or the "Company") ispleased to advise the departure on Sunday of the first 7,000 tonne bulkshipment of rutile from the Likoni Port Facility as well as the firstcontainers of zircon via the Mombasa Port container facility. Both the rutileand zircon shipments were scheduled for late March but vessel availability hadresulted in shipment being delayed. With these shipments, and the 45,300 tonnes of ilmenite exported to date, theKwale Operations have now completed the transition from construction project tooperating mine successfully producing all products to specification. Payment for the first ilmenite shipment was received in March and, with thecommencement of rutile and zircon sales, Base will be generating positiveoperating cash flows in the next month.
