Home Group Limited
Home Group reports strong results for the year ended 31st March 2019.
Home Group, one of the largest housing associations in the UK, has reported a strong performance in its financial statements for the year to 31 March 2019.
Despite challenging political and economic climates, Home Group remains on track to deliver its target to build 10,000 homes by 2022, and push closer towards its mission to build homes, independence and aspirations.
Headlines:
·; Turnover of over £367 million
·; Surplus before tax of £47 million
·; Invested £79.4 million to maintain and improve our customers' homes
·; Issued secured bond during year, raising £250 million to help us reach our ambitious build target
·; During the year we invested over £330 million in development of new homes
·; We delivered 1,660 new homes during the year for rent and ownership
Other highlights include:
Customer satisfaction
Our close relationship with our customers was a key focus in the year to 31 March 2019. Our customer satisfaction levels increased from the already high position from which they started. Satisfaction levels now stand at 95% for rented customers and 97% for supported ones.
Customer promise
We engaged hundreds of our customers in 2018/19 in-order-to update our customer promise, ensuring it is fit-for-purpose going forward. We now have a promise which has been shaped by our customers and will be assessed and evaluated by them. The National Housing Federation's Together with Tenants charter, for which we were an early adopter, was influential in helping shape our new promise.
Homes England strategic partner
During the year to 31 March 2019, we became a wave one strategic partner with Homes England, where we committed to deliver 2,300 homes outside London over the next five years.
Persona
Our new outright sales brand, Persona, which only began operating in 2018, has already lifted the bar in terms of design quality. It was recognised at the 2018 What House Awards with a silver medal for Best House.

John Cridland, Chairman of Home Group, said:
"Overall, our performance in the year to 31 March 2019 has been extremely strong, particularly when the economic and political climates are considered. We are still in uncertain times at present.
"However, our strategy going into 2019/20 continues to be bold and ambitious. We are all behind our mission to build homes, independence and aspirations. With the level of professionalism, energy and passion shown by colleagues in the year to 31 March 2019, I've no doubt we'll get even closer towards achieving this in 2019/20."
Mark Henderson, Chief Executive of Home Group, said:
"Last year was certainly challenging, as this year is proving to be - not just for us but for the sector. However, I was proud of our performance last year given the climate in which we operated. A huge amount of credit must go to colleagues across the organisation for getting us to where we are today. Their commitment, passion and drive are exemplary, and that is largely why we are in a strong position for 2019/20."
