ICAP plc (IAP.L), the world's largest interdealer broker,announced the outcome of an appeal in the patent infringement casebrought by eSpeed against two ICAP Group companies. £ The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washingtonhas affirmed the previous rulings in which eSpeed's patent was foundto be unenforceable due to eSpeed's inequitable conduct in theprosecution of the patent. £ Michael Spencer, Group CEO of ICAP commented, "We are pleased thatthe Appellate Court has reaffirmed the decision by the trial courtthat eSpeed's patent is unenforceable due to eSpeed's inequitableconduct related to the prosecution of the patent.
