DQ Entertainment plc ("DQE")
First live action co-production feature film due for worldwide release
DQE, the AIM listed, India based animation, gaming and entertainment company, is pleased to announce that its co-produced live action film, Meerabai Not Out, is due for worldwide release by Sony Pictures Entertainment on 5 December 2008. It has been jointly produced by both DQE and Pritish Nandy Communications and will be distributed globally, exclusively by Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Meerabai Not Out is directed by award winning Marathi film director, Chandrakant Kulkarni, with the screenplay by Soumik Sen. Mandira Bedi stars in the movie as a brilliant maths teacher obsessed with cricket and cricketing stars. Anil Kumble plays himself in his first Bollywood film, while television star Eijaz Khan makes his debut to main stream cinema, alongside Anupam Kher and Mahesh Manjrekar in leading roles. Meerabai Not Out features a musical score by Sandesh Shandilya.
