Fatality at Darkov Mine
Amsterdam, 29 June 2011 - New World Resources Plc ("NWR"or the "Company") regrets to announce a fatality at the Darkov mine of OKD, a.s. ("OKD"), its Czech subsidiary.
A 49-year-old employee was fatally injured in a rail accident approximately 750 meters below ground on the afternoon of 28 June. NWR expresses its deepest condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the deceased miner.
An investigative committee comprising members of the Ostrava Mining Authority, the local police, Darkov Mine management, OKD company and the OKD trade union is now conducting an enquiry into the accident.
The incident had no immediate impact on production.
