APR Energy announces extension of Libyan contract

APR Energy plc (LSE: APR), a global leader in fast-track power solutions, today announces the extension of its 200MW diesel power module project in Libya on the same terms as the original contract.

The provision of 200MW of diesel power modules, announced in June 2013 as an expansion to APR Energy's 250MW gas turbine contract, created the largest single contract in the history of the fast-track power industry. The combined 450MW power solution provides the Libyan people with interim power while the country continues to rebuild and improve its infrastructure. The 250MW gas turbine project is not due for renewal until summer 2014.

John Campion, APR Energy's Chief Executive Officer said: "I am delighted to announce our first extension in Libya. Today's announcement reflects the strong relationship we have built with our customers and their continued satisfaction in APR's ability to deliver reliable, fast track power. Libya continues to face growing demand for power, and we look forward to continue delivering solutions to GECOL and the Ministry in supporting the ongoing electricity needs of the Libyan people."
