Burren Energy PLC21 November 2005 21 November 2005 Burren Energy Plc ("Burren") Results of first Nebit Dag East exploration well Well NDE001, the first of three consecutive exploration wells on the Nebit DagEast prospect in Turkmenistan which was spudded in mid October, has encounteredhydrocarbon shows but has been subsequently plugged and abandoned as the zone isconsidered to be non-commercial at this time. The well, which is located on the west side of the prospect, was drilled to atotal depth of 3470 metres in the base of the Red Series. Gas shows wererecorded while drilling and a gas condensate sample was recovered from 2714metres, however, the zone is considered to be non-commercial at this time. Therig is being moved to the NDE002 location towards the centre of the prospect tocontinue the exploration programme on this structurally complex prospect. The existing drilling rig will shortly be joined by a further deep drilling rigwhich is expected to be ready to commence operations in early January. The firstwell for this new rig will be on the south flank of the Burun field. Finian O'Sullivan, Chief Executive commented: "Whilst this well is not considered to be commercial at this time, theconfirmation of gas gives us sufficient encouragement to proceed with thedrilling of the two remaining wells on this prospect."
