Expansion of UK Distribution

Works Media Group (The) PLC04 January 2007 The Works Media Group plc ("The Works" or the "Company") Expansion of UK distribution output for 2007 The Works Media Group plc, the independent film distributor, announces todaythat a further four films, for which the Company owns the UK distributionrights, will be entering into the Company's expanding output pipeline forentertainment rights. The films will be distributed in 2007 as part of theCompany's previously stated target of 12 for the year. As these four films,which include "A Prairie Home Companion", Robert Altman's final film, move fromcinematic release to home entertainment release they will generate a variety oflong-term revenue streams for The Works, such as from DVD, Video on Demand,PayTV etc. An agreement with Universal Pictures UK, a UK market leader in homedistribution, will see the films being distributed by Universal, rather than theCompany, on DVD and over the internet, which should maximise the marketpenetration. The new titles from The Works Media Group also include: "Shortbus", thecritically acclaimed New York comedy, which was released by the Company intocinemas in late 2006; and "Ten Canoes", from director Rolf de Heer, which is theAustralian nomination for this year's Academy Awards. "We are continuing to ramp up our presence as a leading independent distributorin the UK market," said Mick Southworth, Managing Director of The WorksDistribution UK, the Company's UK subsidiary.
