CITYFIBRE INFRASTRUCTURE HOLDINGS PLC
('CityFibre' or the 'Group' or the 'Company')
Expansion of Public Service Network in Aberdeen
Additional 15-year agreement with Capita for 57 extra core public sector sites
CityFibre (AIM: CITY), a leading designer, builder, operator and owner of fibre optic infrastructure in UK towns and cities, is pleased to announce a further agreement with Capita, the ICT provider to Aberdeen City Council, to connect additional core public sector sites within the city boundary to CityFibre's metro network.
The initial contract is for 15 years, with a cumulative initial contract value ('ICV') of £1.7m. The contract will extend CityFibre's Aberdeen network to an additional 57 public sector locations, with approximately 17km of incremental network extension, taking total route kilometers of network in the city to over 100km.
This latest network extension will bring total public sector sites served in Aberdeen to 166, and total sites sold in Aberdeen to 419. The entry into the agreement further demonstrates the evolving and expanding demand within the public sector for gigabit connectivity throughout its broader estate. Cumulative ICV booked on the Aberdeen network now totals £6.1m, of which public sector business now totals £3.8m.
The expanded network footprint will increase CityFibre's reach and density in the city, which will drive further market opportunities in the business, public service, and mobile market verticals, as well as laying the ground for a potential extensive FTTH build in future.
Greg Mesch, Chief Executive of CityFibre, commented:
"We are very pleased to announce today's agreement with our long-term partner, Capita, to extend the existing CityFibre network in Aberdeen to bring the benefits of full-fibre to further core public sector sites. Capita and Aberdeen City Council continue to be great partners, and together we are very rapidly transforming this dynamic city into one of the best-connected communities in Scotland. Consistent with our previous experience in York, Peterborough and Coventry, this agreement further illustrates the exciting incremental business opportunities within the UK public sector, and CityFibre's unique positioning in the market leaves us very well-placed to capture this growing demand."
