Expansion into Mainland China
New Trend Lifestyle Group plc (AIM: NTLG), the Singapore-based Feng Shui specialist, is pleased to announce it has opened its first two shops in mainland China. They are both based in Shenzhen, the nearest city to Hong Kong and with a population in excess of 13 million. Both shops are leased.
The first is a Feng Shui shop that also sells related products. It is based in the Chinese Culture Exhibition Palace - an area renowned for Chinese cultural merchandise.
Also selling merchandise, the second, shop is located in the heart of the city's busiest area - Dong Men, which is also a significant mid-range fashion retail location in Shenzhen. Its principal service offering is Tarot readings.
Says Finance Director, Lawrence Cheung: 'This is our first move into the potentially-lucrative Chinese market following our listing on AIM at the end of June. Both shops are in excellent retail locations, and we remain on track to open eight more shops by the end of 2012.'
