Afren PLC22 January 2008 22 January 2008 AFREN PLC EXERCISE OF WARRANTS Afren PLC ("Afren" or the "Company") announces that it was notified on 18January 2008 that Equity Development Limited has exercised warrants over 37,279ordinary shares in the Company. Consequently, the Company has today issued and allotted, conditional onadmission, 37,279 Ordinary Shares of 1p each. The shares will rank pari passuwith the existing Ordinary Shares of 1p each in the Company. Application foradmission has been made for the shares, which is expected to be effective on 28January 2008. Following the share issue, the Company's outstanding issued share capital will be 273,043,842 Ordinary Shares.
