Overview of Nashoba Learning Group ("NLG")
NLG (www.nashobalearninggroup.org), based in Bedford, MA, was founded in 2002 to offer a different life trajectory for more seriously impaired individuals with autism and their families. From a one room school serving 2 students in a church basement, NLG has grown to become one of the premier schools for autism, serving 90 students ages 3-22, with a waiting list of 270. NLG's successful results are driven by three critical principles: evidence-based Applied Behaviour Analysis teaching methodology, customization of teaching procedures and curriculum for each student, and an organizational model designed to optimize the training, development and retention of high-performing staff. NLG launched an Adult Program in March 2013 to serve its graduates and others like them because there was no appropriate place for them to go.
