Joint Stock Company 'Halyk Savings Bank of Kazakhstan' (Halyk Bank) (LSE: HSBK) is pleased to announce two corporate awards recently granted to Halyk Bank. Halyk has been recognised as the "Best Bank in Kazakhstan" and "Best Managed Bank in Emerging Europe" in a corporate survey conducted by Euromoney of analysts at leading banks and research institutes.
The criteria for selecting the winners included the bank's position in the market, market share, innovative banking products, management system, professionalism of the staff, innovative character, balance sheet and shareholder equity.
Mr. Martin Born, Director for CEE, Russia and CIS, Euromoney highlighted that: "The jury was particularly impressed by Halyk's success in developing its retail business as well as its strong presence in the retail deposit market, growing sales and spectacular development in the regions".
The "Best Bank in Kazakhstan" was awarded to Mr. Grigory Marchenko, CEO of Halyk Bank, during the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2008 which took place in Hong Kong on July 17, 2008. This award is recognition of Halyk Bank's commitment to developing as a leading financial services group and recent expansion of its international operations and credit exposure in the region.
