Establishment of Hathern Terracotta
Michelmersh Brick Holdings plc (AIM: MBH), the specialist brick, land development and landfill company, is pleased to announce the launch of a new terracotta and faience production business: Hathern Terracotta.
The new production will compliment Michelmersh's existing business and open new opportunities and markets for the Group. Terracotta is used in a variety of building projects with the primary need driven largely by the restoration market.
This business will be based at the Company's specialist hand made works at Charnwood where many complementary skills already exist. Charnwood Forest Brick, at the site, has long established itself with the other companies under the Michelmersh banner as a leading UK supplier of premium specification hand made bricks, a notable recent example being supplier of product for the award winning St Pancras Station.
Production and sale of Hathern Terracotta products has already begun, and is expected to make a positive contribution to the Group in its first full year of production in 2010.
