VPhase plc

Entry into the social housing market
Agreement with housing association to trial the VPhase product
Further to the announcement on 22 December 2009, VPhase plc (AIM:VPHA), a leading provider of energy-saving products for residential and commercial properties, has signed an agreement with a Northwest-based social housing group to trial the VPhase smart voltage management product in a number of tenants' homes.
This agreement marks the entry of VPhase into the social housing market. This market in England covers an estimated 4 million homes and is an important target sector for VPhase. The low-cost VPhase device can help tenants across the UK to reduce their energy bills while helping social housing providers to meet stringent carbon reduction targets such as CERT.
In the trial the social housing group will be fitting the VPhase product into a number of homes. The devices will electronically manage the level of voltage supplied into homes and ensure that household appliances receive the right amount of voltage to operate in the most efficient way. The housing association will use the trial to ascertain the ease of installing a VPhase device, and will independently monitor the homes to measure the product's energy- and carbon-saving capability.
Lee Juby, CEO of VPhase, commented: "Our entry into the social housing sector is a key milestone as it represents a significant route to market for us. We are already working with a number of UK utilities to introduce the VPhase product into households. In our entry into the housing association market we look forward to helping more UK homes to reduce their emissions and energy bills, thus helping to make social housing to become even more affordable."

About VPhase plc
VPhase plc provides a product that reduces the energy consumption of many domestic electrical appliances.
The Company has developed a Smart Voltage Management product designed to be attached to the consumer unit (fuse box) in order to control the incoming voltage for selected circuits to a target set point of 220 volts. This is slightly higher than the minimum design point for electrical items in Europe, thereby ensuring that electrical appliances in the home operate closer to the voltage condition for which they were designed.
Tests by VPhase have demonstrated that the product can typically save 10% of the electricity across a range of domestic products including fridges, freezers, central heating pumps, televisions and other items, even 'energy-saving' light bulbs. This should equate to savings for the typical homeowner of £50 per annum.
In addition, there is evidence that the life of electrical appliances can be extended by the use of this product; light bulbs, in particular, have demonstrated at least two times longer life when on a circuit managed by the voltage management product as compared to those without the product.
