The Company has been informed that the Trustees of the Premier Oil plc Employee Benefit Trust purchased 615,000 shares in the Company on 10 October 2008 at an average price of £8.028481. 

Following this transaction, the Trustees hold 937,324 shares in the Company, representing 1.17% of the Total Voting Rights.
