Morgan Sindall PLC20 November 2006 Morgan Sindall Plc Morgan Est consortium preferred bidder in £600 million National Grid electricitysubstations project Morgan Est, the infrastructure services division of Morgan Sindall Plc togetherwith consortium partners ABB and Atkins have been appointed preferred bidder fora five-year contract, worth up to £600 million, to develop and constructelectricity substations across central Britain for National Grid. The contractcould be worth as much as £175 million to Morgan Est over the period of thecontract which starts next year and initially runs until 2011 with the potentialto extend for a further 5 years. Morgan Est and its consortium partners together form one of four ElectricitySubstation Alliances appointed by National Grid to develop new electricitysubstations across England and Wales. The Alliance contracts amount to circa£2.8 billion and will be a significant part of the overall potential capitalinvestment to upgrade and develop the electricity transmission network acrossEngland and Wales.
