Cape PLC13 April 2006 Cape PLC ("Cape") Resolution passed at Extraordinary General Meeting Appointment of Scheme Director At the Extraordinary General Meeting of Cape PLC, (AIM: CIU), held earlier todayat 10 Snow Hill, London, the resolution set out in the notice of theExtraordinary General Meeting was passed on a show of hands. The proxy votes submitted to the Registrars before the Extraordinary GeneralMeeting were as follows: Votes For % Votes Against % Votes Withheld65,504,854 99.95 15,000 0.03 1,700 Cape is also pleased to announce that Mr Chris Pond has agreed to be appointedas the second Scheme Director alongside Lord Meghnad Desai and that the SchemeShareholder, The Law Debenture Trust Corporation plc has consented to Mr Pond'sappointment as a director of Cape Claims Services Limited. Mr Pond was the Labour MP for Gravesham from 1997-2005, during which time hespent five years working within Government, in the Department for Work andPensions as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State and in the Treasury asParliamentary Private Secretary to the Paymaster General. He was also a memberof the Social Security Select Committee. He successfully campaigned alongsidevictims' families for a public inquiry into the sinking of the Marchioness andwas named as Macmillan Cancer Care Parliamentary Champion in 2003. Prior to entering parliament Mr Pond lectured in economics at the Civil ServiceCollege and the University of Kent and was a Visiting Professor/Research fellowat Surrey University. He was director of the Low Pay Unit, and has written manybooks and academic journals on equality, pay issues and social exclusion. Healso has a very keen interest in European issues, having served as an expert toDGV (social policy) of the European Commission in 1996. Currently Mr Pond isChief Executive of the National Council for One Parent Families and Chair ofCapacitybuilders, a funding agency for the voluntary sector.
