E1'S TELEVISION SERIES 'HUNG' RENEWED FOR SECOND SEASON
Entertainment One Ltd. ("E1"), a leading independent film distribution and television group, is pleased to announce that its hit comedy television series Hung, broadcast by US cable network HBO, has been recommissioned by the network for a second season.
The renewal of Hung comes alongside the continued success of E1's television business amongst the major US broadcast networks, with its productions The Bridge (CBS) and Copper (ABC) both also broadcasting in the coming season.
Produced by E1, Hung is averaging 9.4 million viewers per episode making it HBO's most watched debut series in over five years. In its first season, ratings for the critically acclaimed show are sitting comfortably between veteran HBO blockbusters True Blood and Entourage.
Darren Throop, CEO, said "The success of Hung is further evidence of the strength and success of E1's television business that we acquired during 2008. The reach that we have into the US broadcast market is genuinely unique and the success that we have enjoyed with the current slate of productions broadcasting in the US and internationally is a tremendous achievement and provides us with an exciting opportunity going forward".
