Connemara Mining Company plc17 December 2007 17 December, 2007 Drilling begins on Meath/Cavan zinc prospect Drilling to re-commence at Limerick discovery in January Connemara Mining Company Plc ("Connemara") (AIM: CON.L), the Irish zincexplorer, is pleased to provide an update on drilling in Ireland. Drilling starts on Lough Sheelin Block on Meath/Cavan border A first phase 1000 metre drill programme has started on the 100% owned LoughSheelin zinc-lead prospect which consists of five licences covering 170 sq. kmlocated in the Drumleery area of Meath/Cavan. The Lough Sheelin prospect is situated at the intersection of two majorstructural trends and has geology strongly analogous to the Navan zinc depositbeing mined by Tara - New Boliden, which lies 25 kms to the East. Earlierexploration discovered widespread low grade zinc lead mineralisation including1.7 million tonnes of 4.5% zinc & 0.7% lead (Non JORC/43-101). By utilisingmodern exploration techniques Connemara has identified a series of high qualitytargets. Drilling to re-commence at Limerick discovery in January Following the successful first phase drilling programme at Monaster in Limerick, which included one hole with a sample interval grading up to 28% zinc and 4%lead, an aggressive follow up drilling programme is scheduled to commence inJanuary 2008. This will include an initial phase of 5000 metres of diamonddrilling and will focus on establishing the trend and extent of zinc-leadmineralisation. The Limerick property is under option and operated by TeckCominco Ireland ("Teck Cominco"), a subsidiary of Teck Cominco Limited. This announcement has been approved by Graham Reid, P. Geo., Director BRGTechnical Services, consultants to Connemara. Mr. Reid has 30 years mineralexploration and evaluation experience. John Teeling, Chairman, commented, "While our partner, Teck Cominco, is drillingour exciting zinc/lead discovery in Limerick we will be chasing a Navan minelookalike within the Lough Sheelin prospect on the Meath/Cavan border, which ison trend from Navan. Shallow drilling 25 years ago discovered extensive lowgrade zinc/lead. We have reworked the data and completed a series ofgeophysical and geochemical surveys. As result we have developed a newgeological model that has generated a series of high quality drill targets."
