Dividend Declaration

SMITH & NEPHEW PLC

STERLING AMOUNT OF DIVIDEND

As announced on 7 February 2013, a final dividend of 16.2 US cents per Ordinary Share in respect of the year ended 31 December 2012 will be paid on 8 May 2013 to shareholders whose names appeared on the Register at the close of business on 19 April 2013. Those shareholders whose address on the Register is in the UK, and those who have validly elected to receive sterling dividends, will receive a dividend of 10.6 pence per share.
