Drax Group PLC09 October 2006 DRAX GROUP PLC ("DRAX") (Symbol:DRX) Special Dividend and Share Consolidation Following the approval of the first resolution proposed at the ExtraordinaryGeneral Meeting of Drax Group plc ("Drax") held on 6 October 2006, the shareconsolidation (under which shareholders receive 29 New Ordinary Shares of 11 1/29 pence each for every 32 Existing Ordinary Shares of 10 pence each) of Draxhas become effective and dealings in Drax's New Ordinary Shares of 11 1/29 penceeach are expected to commence this morning. Payment of both the Interim Dividend of 4 pence per Existing Ordinary Share andthe Special Dividend of 80 pence per Existing Ordinary Share are expected totake place on 25 October 2006. Despatch of new share certificates and cheques in respect of fractionalentitlements to New Ordinary Shares of 11 1/29 pence each is expected to takeplace on 24 October 2006.
