For immediate release 16 September 2005 United Business Media Sells UK Automotive Titles to Newsquest United Business Media plc ("UBM") announces today that it has concluded adefinitive agreement with Exchange Enterprises Limited, a subsidiary ofNewsquest Media Group Limited ("Newsquest") in relation to the sale of Exchange& Mart and Auto Exchange, for ‚£50.25 million in cash. This sale largely completes the programme of significant disposals in line withUBM's stated strategy of realising value from non-core businesses and focusingon investment in high-growth, integrated, specialist markets for professionalsand enthusiasts and news distribution.The disposal of Exchange & Mart and Auto Exchange is not expected to generateany tax liability for UBM and the proceeds will be retained for reinvestment inUBM's other portfolio businesses.
