Monday 30 September, 2013 Candover1 Investments plc sells Qioptiq to Excelitas Technologies Candover Investments plc announces that Arle2 Capital Partners Limited ("Arle")has agreed the sale of portfolio company Qioptiq to Excelitas Technologies. Nofinancial details have been disclosed. The transaction is expected to close inthe next quarter and is conditional, among other things, on the customaryregulatory approvals. The sale of Qioptiq, one of three remaining Candover 2001 Fund investments, isexpected to generate estimated cash proceeds of €9.5 million, together withcarried interest of €5.5 million for Candover Investments plc. This is in linewith the valuation of Candover's investment in Qioptiq at 30 June 2013. Inaddition, up to €0.7 million equivalent will be held in escrow, to be paidshould certain criteria be met. Originally acquired by Candover Partners in 2005 but managed by Arle CapitalPartners since 2010, Qioptiq is one of the world's leaders in the manufactureof high precision optical components, modules and solutions for military andcivil applications.
