Princess Private Equity Holding Ltd19 February 2008 News Release Guernsey, 19 February 2008 Highly successful exit of Intelsat resulting in an IRR of over 100% The Princess Private Equity Holding Limited ("Princess") partnerships ApolloInvestment Fund V and Apax Excelsior VI together with buyout firms Permira andMadison Dearborn Partners have closed the sale of Intelsat. The company was soldfor approximately USD 16.5 billion to a group of investors led by BC Partners,generating a high single digit multiple resulting in a gross IRR in excess of100% on the USD 515 million original investment, made in 2004. Intelsat is theleading provider of fixed satellite services worldwide. The company has over 50satellites which deliver advanced transmission access for information andentertainment to some of the world's leading media and network companies,multinational corporations, internet service providers and governmentalagencies. Stephan Schali, head of private alternative investment strategies at Princess'sinvestment advisor Partners Group, comments: "The sale of Intelsat at a highsingle digit multiple of the original investment cost represents another highlysuccessful exit for the Princess portfolio, indicating the quality of ourprivate equity investments even in the current volatile market environment.Intelsat has undergone significant strategic and financial improvements duringthe holding period of the consortium which have resulted in impressive valuecreation.
