PureCircle Announces Discovery and Development of new Food Ingredient Rebaudioside X

PureCircle (LSE: PURE) the world's leading producer and marketer of high purity stevia ingredients today announces the discovery of and progress against developing a new food ingredient the company has named Rebaudioside X. In conjunction with The Coca-Cola Company, PureCircle is seeking global intellectual property coverage for the ingredient.

A detailed safety evaluation has now been conducted by an independent Expert Panel on high purity Rebaudioside X and has received self-affirmed GRAS status. PureCircle has now elected to formally submit its GRAS notification to the FDA for the agency's additional safety review.

These developments follow an earlier announcement on September 28th, 2012, of a joint development agreement with The Coca-Cola Company which allows for the continued joint investigation and development of a stevia sweetener product as a commercially viable food ingredient.
