Home Retail Group Plc18 October 2007 HOME RETAIL GROUP plc ("the Company") DISCLOSURE OF VOTING RIGHTS The Company has received a notification from AXA Investment Managers UK Limitedadvising that AXA S.A. of 25 Avenue Matignon, 75008 Paris and its GroupCompanies now holds, as a result of a transaction that took place on 16 October2007, 144,400,564 voting rights in the Company (representing 16.46% of thevoting rights of the Company, of which 1.82% is direct and 14.64% is indirect). The threshold that was crossed as a result of the transaction was 17.00% inrespect of the total holding (the previous notification being 17.00%, of which1.82% was direct and 15.18% was indirect). The notification was issued pursuant to DTR 5.1.2 and was dated 17 October 2007.
