Home Retail Group Plc20 August 2007 HOME RETAIL GROUP plc ("the Company") DISCLOSURE OF VOTING RIGHTS The Company has received a notification from AXA Investment Managers UK Limitedadvising that AXA S.A. of 25 Avenue Matignon, 75008 Paris and its GroupCompanies now holds, as a result of a transaction that took place on 16 August2007, 133,484,307 voting rights in the Company (representing 15.21% of thevoting rights of the Company, of which 1.72% is direct and 13.49 % is indirect).The threshold that was crossed as a result of the transaction was 15% in respectof the total holding (the previous notification being 14.09%, of which 1.62% wasdirect and 12.46% was indirect). The notification was issued pursuant to DTR 5.1.2 and was dated 16 August 2007.
