Home Retail Group Plc23 April 2008 HOME RETAIL GROUP plc ("the Company") DISCLOSURE OF VOTING RIGHTS The Company has received a notification from Aviva plc and its subsidiaries("Aviva") advising that Aviva now holds, as a result of a transaction that tookplace on 21 April 2008, 43,211,654 voting rights in the Company (representing4.93% of the voting rights in the Company, of which 4.66% is direct and 0.27%indirect). The threshold that was crossed as a result of the transaction was 5% in respectof the combined interest holding (the previous notification being 5.06% of thevoting rights in the Company, of which 4.79% was direct and 0.27% indirect). The notification was issued pursuant to DTR 5.1.2 and was dated 22 April 2008.
