Home Retail Group Plc22 April 2008 HOME RETAIL GROUP plc ("the Company") DISCLOSURE OF VOTING RIGHTS The Company has received a notification from Aviva plc and its subsidiaries("Aviva") advising that Aviva now holds, as a result of a transaction that tookplace on 18 April 2008, 44,365,654 voting rights in the Company (representing5.06% of the voting rights in the Company, of which 4.79% is direct and 0.27%indirect). The threshold that was crossed as a result of the transaction was 5% in respectof the direct holding (the previous notification being 6.28% of the votingrights in the Company, of which 5.96% was direct and 0.32% indirect). The notification was issued pursuant to DTR 5.1.2 and was dated 22 April 2008.
