Home Retail Group Plc08 February 2008 HOME RETAIL GROUP plc ("the Company") DISCLOSURE OF VOTING RIGHTS The Company has received a notification from The Goldman Sachs Group Inc.advising that Goldman Sachs & Co., Goldman Sachs Asset Management International,and Goldman Sachs Asset Management L.P. now hold, as a result of a transactionthat took place on 5 February 2008, 52,342,122 voting rights in the Company(representing 5.97% of the voting rights in the Company, of which the whole5.97% is indirect). The threshold that was crossed or reached was 6% in respect of the total holding(the previous notification being 6.01%, of which the whole 6.01% was indirect). The notification was issued pursuant to DTR 5.1.5 (1) and was received on 7February 2008.
