Disclosure of information on power plant outages

DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION ON POWER PLANT OUTAGES

SSE Generation Ltd, a subsidiary of SSE plc, will disclose publicly data for planned or unplanned outages affecting its wholly-owned power plant for units of more than 100 megawatts in capacity (or more than 100 megawatts in aggregate for wind capacity), including the reason for the outage and its expected duration, from 28 December 2011.

The information will be provided at www.sse.com/Generation/PowerPlantOutages and its disclosure is in line with the expected requirements of the EU Regulation on Energy Market Integrity and Transparency (REMIT) as it affects wholesale energy markets.
