Northern Petroleum Plc ("Northern" or "the Company") Directors Shareholdings

The Company has been advised today that Graham Heard, Exploration & TechnicalDirector, this morning transferred 9,264 ordinary shares from his personalholdings to his SIPP at a price of 44.75p per share, being the mid market priceat start of business today. Following this transaction Mr Heard's beneficialshareholding remains at 587,497 ordinary shares, which represents 0.63 per centof the issued share capital of the Company.

Following this transaction, the Directors' total beneficial shareholdingsremain at 3,614,461 ordinary shares, which represents 3.79 per cent of theenlarged issued share capital of the Company.
