Home Retail Group Plc15 January 2007 HOME RETAIL GROUP plc ("the Company") DIRECTORS' SHAREHOLDINGS The Company has been advised by Abacus Corporate Trustee Limited ("Abacus") thatAbacus, as trustee of the Home Retail Group plc Employee Share Trust ("theTrust"), now holds 7,527,678 ordinary shares of 10 pence each in the Company.The notification from Abacus was received by the Company on 15 January. As announced on 22 December, the holding at that date was 7,543,530 ordinaryshares. Since then 15,852 ordinary shares have been released in connection withthe exercise of options granted under GUS plc's former UK share option schemes. Directors of the Company are potential beneficiaries of the Trust andaccordingly any changes in the shareholdings by the Trust are deemed to changetheir interests in the Ordinary share capital of the Company. However, nodirector or person discharging managerial responsibility exercised any optionsand no shares were released to them. The balances of shares in respect of theirpersonal interests therefore remain unchanged.
