Home Retail Group Plc22 February 2007 HOME RETAIL GROUP plc ("the Company") DIRECTORS' SHAREHOLDINGS The Company has been advised by Yorkshire Building Society ("YBS") that YBS, astrustee of the Home Retail Group UK Approved All-Employee Plan ("the Plan"), nowholds 1,426,243 ordinary shares of 10 pence each in the Company on behalf of thePlan. The notification from YBS was received by the Company on 21 February. As announced on 5 February, the holding at that date was 1,426,782 ordinaryshares. Directors of the Company are potential beneficiaries of the Plan and accordinglyany changes in the shareholding by the Plan are deemed to change their interestsin the ordinary share capital of the Company. However, no director or persondischarging managerial responsibility exercised any options and no shares werereleased to them. The balances of shares in respect of their personal intereststherefore remain unchanged.
