Petropavlovsk PLC (the "Company") announces that it has been notified today by Dr Graham Birch, the Company's Senior Independent Non-Executive Director, of the information set out below.

Dr Birch has today purchased 5,000 ordinary shares at a price of £2.096 per share. Following this transaction Dr Birch has an interest in 15,000 ordinary shares, representing 0.008% of the Company's issued share capital.

The notification of the above transaction is to satisfy the Company's obligations under the Financial Services Authority Disclosure and Transparency Rules 3.1.2 to 3.1.4.
