NOTIFICATION OF TRANSACTIONS OF DIRECTORS, PERSONS DISCHARGING MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITY OR CONNECTED PERSONS
Notification made in accordance with Disclosure Rule 3.1.4R(1)(a) of the Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
The Company was notified on 7 July 2009 that on 6 July 2009 Mr N R Withington, a person discharging managerial responsibility, acquired 252 ordinary shares of 25p each in British American Tobacco p.l.c. (the "Shares") at a price of 1714.32 pence per Share as a result of the reinvestment of income by his ISA Manager.
Following this transaction, Mr Withington has a total beneficial and family interest in 100,767 Shares (including 34,388 Deferred Shares).
