Cable & Wireless PLC05 September 2007 Interests in the Ordinary Shares of Cable and Wireless plc ("the Company") The Company has been advised that the Trustee of the Cable and Wireless plcEmployee Share Ownership Trust ("the Trust") has released Ordinary Shares in theCompany as follows: 1 August 2007: 253 Ordinary Shares at a price of £1.6500 per share; and28 August 2007: 169 Ordinary Shares at a price of £1.7080 per share; Following the disposals 32,874,278 Ordinary Shares are held under the Trust. George Battersby, Harris Jones, Richard Lapthorne, John Pluthero and Tony Rice(all being Directors of Cable and Wireless plc), in their capacity as members ofthe class of beneficiaries under the Trust, and Lloyds TSB Offshore TrustCompany Limited, in their capacity as Trustee of the Trust, are deemed to have anon-beneficial interest in these Ordinary Shares.
