Announcement of transaction in ordinary shares by a Director/PDMR

The Company was today informed that on 16 July 2012 John Hutson, CEO of JD Wetherspoon plc sold 3500 of the company's ordinary shares at a price of 441.7p per share. Following this transaction, the number of shares held by John Hutson is 38,556 ordinary shares in the Company.

The Company was also informed today that on 16 July 2012 Helena Geoghegan, Martin Geoghegan's wife, a PDMR of JD Wetherspoon plc, sold 4980 of the company's ordinary shares at a price of 440.8231p per share. The joint holding of Mr and Mrs Geoghegan is now 21,443 ordinary shares in the Company.
